63 Best Karaoke Songs For Men to Sing (Ultimate List)
Now that is an interesting question. What are the best karaoke songs for men? There are plenty of suggestions for the ladies but not so many for the men. So, I decided to take a look at a few options.
Table of Contents
But, unlike some lists I have seen, there will not be any songs from Yes or Led Zeppelin. They might be a bit out of most people’s comfort zones. The object is to have some fun. So, let’s cover a few different styles and include ideal karaoke songs for males. That way, you have a good chance of making it sound good.
Your Choice?
You will have the choice of something soft or a song from days gone by, or you can really raise the roof. It’s up to you. So, let’s make a start with a huge hit and a song everyone will know from 1969.
63 Best Karaoke Songs For Men
1Proud Mary by Creedence Clearwater Revival
This is a track taken from Creedence’s second album, Bayou Country. It’s the song that announced them to the world. It reached #8 in the UK, #2 in America, and #1 in Yugoslavia and Austria.
Unsurprisingly, there have been many covers, most notably by Tina Turner. It depends on how you want to sing it. Creedence’s version is very much a slow, steady, easy-paced Country Rock song. Tina really lets rip, as you can hear in her live version of “Proud Mary.” Whichever way you choose, both versions will be a welcome addition to any karaoke party.
2Uptown Girl by Billy Joel
Maybe not Billy Joel’s best song musically or lyrically, but one of his best-known. It was released in 1983 and was taken from his album, An Innocent Man.
“Uptown Girl” hit the top spot in the UK and #3 in America. The song is about a man who is working-class and has taken a fancy to a wealthy uptown girl. It talks about his efforts to woo her. A sure-fire winner at any karaoke gathering and a relatively easy song to sing, which makes it a good and popular song for men at karaoke parties.
3Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley
This track was released by Elvis Presley in 1969. It was written by Mark James. He had released it the year before with no commercial success.
Presley had needed something special. Apart from die-hard fans, he had fallen down the pecking order because of The Beatles and other bands who had taken over. He was no longer the icon he once was, and this song was chosen to at least bring him some success.
It just did that, reaching #2 in the UK and #1 in America. “Suspicious Minds” is a real showstopper at a karaoke party, with its great chorus repeated at the end. As one of the best karaoke songs for men, this is bound to get the crowd on your side.
4I Can’t Explain by The Who
There aren’t many songs that are immediately recognizable in the first seconds, but this song is. The Who arrived on the scene with their first single in 1965. Although, most in West London at the time were already aware of them by then.
For a karaoke night, it is a powerful song with plenty of options to deliver a visual as well as a vocal performance. Although, “rodeoing” the mic as Daltrey did might not be such a good idea if it doesn’t belong to you.
An interesting snippet, Jimmy Page played a background rhythm guitar on the track, but his cut wasn’t used in the final mix. “I Can’t Explain” reached #8 in the UK chart and still opens their live shows today. So, choose this, and you will be in good company.
5Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd
You won’t be the first to sing this at a karaoke bar, it’s one of the most popular choices. It was released in 1974 in reply to the Neil Young track “Southern Man,” which commented on slavery in the South. Another song with an instantly recognizable start, easy to sing, and will always be popular.
6Take It Easy by The Eagles
So far, it seems that all the best songs for men to sing at karaoke have instantly recognizable beginnings. That isn’t an accident, it always helps to get everyone on board from the earliest moment.
This was The Eagle’s first single, recorded at Olympic Sound in London and released in 1972. It was written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey. “Take It Easy” was always a song featured in their live shows, often as the opener. A nice bit of easygoing Country Rock to consider.
7Hotel California by The Eagles
It is usually best to sing a song that as many people as possible will be familiar with at a karaoke party. “Hotel California” falls into that category. Not that difficult to sing, but it has plenty of impact. That’s why it’s one of the best karaoke songs for men.
You will need to fill the time during the closing solo unless you fade out early. A slightly different rhythmic format to this song as it has a very subtle reggae beat going on. Might be a nice change during the evening.
Who’s Feeling Adventurous?
Most people can just churn out a song at a karaoke evening. But taking on a song that requires something a bit extra is very adventurous. These next songs will require that little bit extra. Nevertheless, these are enjoyable karaoke songs for men to have a go at singing.
8Fire and Rain by James Taylor
You might wonder why I refer to this as adventurous. Well, because it is a song written by a very private man who is pouring his heart out. It needs to be handled very carefully, or it will all go wrong. “Fire and Rain” is taken from his 1970 album, Sweet Baby James.
The lyrics are profoundly sad as he talks about the death of a much-loved friend, Suzanne, and his addictions. It’s also about his struggles with the fame that was rapidly gaining pace in his life. One of the great songs of the 70s that many people will know, but it is asking for a sympathetic performance.
9Superstition by Stevie Wonder
Stevie Wonder is one of the greatest artists and songwriters of the last 50 years. This is a song that will lift the roof off at your karaoke night if you can get it right. It was actually written with Jeff Beck in mind for that recognizable riff that is played here by the Hohner Clavinet.
With a great stomping beat and a powerful presence, this song has it all. But, it is not easy to sing. You will need to input your personality into it rather than try to copy him. Copying him will not be possible.
10Living For The City by Stevie Wonder
Let’s stay with the great man for another classic from his almost endless list of great songs. This is a song with a big message that is dear to his heart. It isn’t a song that is hard to sing, but it could be a song that is hard to make sound good. A pounding beat that is great for a dancing audience drives it along. It is taken from his album, Innervisions, released in 1973.
11I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner
Are you an incurable romantic? If so, then this will be the song for you for a karaoke night. It was released as the first single from the album Agent Provocateur in 1984. Foreigner was a British and American Rock band who based themselves over the pond.
The song was written by the band’s British guitarist Mick Jones and went to #1 in both the UK and America. An evergreen song that is always well-received. If you want to tug at a few heartstrings or sing to someone special in the audience, there isn’t a better song.
12Fly Me To The Moon by Nat ‘King’ Cole with George Shearing
Let’s go back in time to 1962 and a song that is often associated with Frank Sinatra. Just to be awkward, I happen to prefer the velvet voice of Nat ‘King’ Cole. He sings here with accompaniment by the George Shearing Quintet.
This is not an easy song to sing at all, even though it doesn’t sound excessively complicated. It isn’t so much hitting the notes as the way you express the lyrics through the music. The use of your voice’s natural vibrato will be required in places. If you can pull it off, you will surprise a few people. And, as it is such a well-known karaoke song for men, it is going to be a good choice.
Or would you prefer something Gentle And Easy Going?
Let’s carry on with some easy songs for men to sing at karaoke.
13Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett
Released in 1977, this is a great track, especially if the bar is open and a few drinks are being consumed. Easy to sing with a great hook, it has a relaxed feel to it that might be appreciated. One of those songs that just seems to stay in your mind after you’ve heard it, which makes it a good choice.
14Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver
Moving on to a Country Music theme, this is another timeless song. It doesn’t matter where you are from, this is a song that will bring back memories of home.
And, as we are now a species that rarely stays in one place, people in your audience will likely be stirred by memories of home. It is a song that everybody knows. Released in 1971, it reached #2 in the American chart. Relaxed and easy to sing, it is a great song for a newcomer to karaoke.
15I Can’t Stop Loving You by Ray Charles
Let’s stay with the Country Music theme with this classic from Ray Charles. Ray, of course, was probably better known for his R&B and rock n roll songs, but he could sing anything. He wasn’t known as “The Genius” for nothing.
The song was written by Don Gibson, who released it first in 1958. Ray Charles’ version came out in 1962 and is the one we all remember. He scored a #1 hit in the UK, America, and elsewhere. A good idea for a karaoke song for men if you want something easy, relaxed, and not too difficult to sing.
16Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers
Time now for a bit of relaxed Jazz/Blues with this hit song from 1971 that reached #3 on the American chart. It offers a chance for a little bit of improvisation and, more importantly, inflection allowing you to vocally move around the notes.
There is an interesting part in the song where he sings “I know” 26 times. Believe it or not, he forgot to write a verse, and so did that instead. You will have to negotiate that, but apart from that, it is a song with plenty of “feel” to it.
17With A Little Help From My Friends by The Beatles
This is good old Ringo and his song from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club. It’s one of those songs that fits just about every occasion. It is a happy song, even though some of the words could be construed as quite sad.
“With A Little Help From My Friends” has had plenty of covers, of course. Most notably by British Blues great Joe Cocker. I haven’t included that here because that may be a “bridge too far” vocally. But Ringo’s original bounces along at a comfortable pace and is certain to go down well.
18In My Life by The Beatles
Let’s have one more from The Beatles with this masterpiece from John Lennon. John’s best song? It could be. It was included in the album Rubber Soul, released in 1965.
“In My Life” is a song that will take a thoughtful approach to perform, given that the lyrics are very personal. Karaoke is often thought of as being all jumping about and screaming, but it’s not the case. There are enough people that recognize beauty in a song, and this has plenty of that.
Or Something To Rouse the Crowd?
Let’s finish by looking at some of the best karaoke songs for men that should receive a great audience reaction.
19Bye Bye Love by The Everly Brothers
Can’t compose a list of anything without including these boys. Whilst they have plenty of songs that could be used for karaoke, this is probably the best of them all. It was written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant and released in 1957.
Definitely a song where people are going to join in on the chorus. And, in some cases, even the verses. It was also covered by Simon and Garfunkel if you want to style your performance on another version.
20Maggie May by Rod Stewart
Let me start by making an apology. For reasons not worth going into here, I am not Rod Stewart’s biggest fan. However, he has released some tracks over the years that are ideal for karaoke, and this is one of them.
It goes way back to 1971 from the album, Every Picture Tells A Story. Stewart wrote the song along with Martin Quittenton, with an awful lot of help from the uncredited Ray Jackson. He composed and played the mandolin piece.
I don’t think backing singer Maggie Bell, not who the song was about, by the way, was impressed with the recording arrangements either. But, for her and Ray, that’s another story. Easy tempo and easy to sing, a song that everybody knows. That makes it a great karaoke song for men.
21Jumpin’ Jack Flash by The Rolling Stones
Karaoke is supposed to be fun, and you can sure have a bit of fun with this. It was, in my view, probably the best track they ever recorded. But, it comes with so much scope for, shall we call it, “improvisation.”
Another song that is instantly recognizable from the opening chords. It was one of the greatest Rock songs of the time and is bound to stir up your audience. You can also have a few laughs with a few on-stage “moves” or improvisations, as I previously referred to.
22We Are The Champions by Queen
I make no apologies for including their version recorded at the Live Aid concert in London in 1985. This is Queen and Freddie Mercury holding an audience as very few others could. And this was the day it all came together for them.
“We Are The Champions” is one of their most well-loved songs, written by Freddie Mercury and first released in 1977 on their album, News of the World. It is almost an anthem and is certain to get some audience participation.
23Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis
Do you want to create a storm at the karaoke party? Then get your vocal cords around this 1957 classic from Jerry Lee. Otis Blackwell and Jack Hammer wrote the song, which has become one of the best in all Rock & Roll history.
Jerry Lee Lewis was not just a singer; he was a force of nature. And, when he let rip, it was something to behold. You might not have a piano to hammer the daylights out of, but you can still turn in a rocking performance that will raise the roof.
It was #1 in the UK, and funnily enough, it went to #1 on the American Country music chart. Country song? Don’t think so, fellas.
24I Just Called To Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder
Back to Stevie Wonder one more time for this classic and another song that everyone is going to know. Released in 1984, it was used in the film, The Woman In Red.
It has probably broken more records than many other songs, including being #1 in the UK, America, and 17 other countries. It was Motown’s biggest-selling single at that time, and also Stevie Wonder’s most successful. He wrote the song and played everything, including programming certain instruments and their sounds.
This is a tender love song about a phone call someone is making to express their deep feelings to another. Another song that is perfect for karaoke and one the audience is quite likely to join in on.
25Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond
If ever there was a song that was written especially for karaoke, then this could be it. Neil Diamond’s classic song has been used many times in various situations since it was released in 1969. But, wherever it is used, it is the cue for a mass sing-along.
Are you looking for a song that is easy to sing, that everyone knows, and that people will sing along to? If so, there is probably nothing better than this.

Best Karaoke Songs For Men – Final Thoughts
Dust off your vocal cords, there are plenty of songs to choose from here. I have tried to cover as many genres and styles, even decades, as possible. They are all classic well-known songs, and a few others that might not be so well-known. But all are great karaoke songs for men in their own way.
Of course, some genres don’t suit a middle-of-the-road karaoke party. You tend not to hear too much Death Metal at such events, so they haven’t been included.
The key to doing well at a karaoke party is not trying to impress, so pick something you can sing well. It is fun, after all, for you and the audience. And, in that list, there is bound to be something that is going to suit you. Enjoy.
Until next time, make yourself heard.
