I Interpret it as feeling like you dont know someone you've known for a while, like their changing and slipping away. It feels like they want to you to stay away, and their tired of you and all you are, hence the lyrics "Tell me all the ways to stay away". At some point, it drives you crazy and you want them to stay away from you, feeling unwanted. At the end of the song the lyrics, "Black out days, I don't even recognize you anymore" shows that you just don't know the person and they're just another face you see, one you dont recognize because they've changed who they are.
