I don't want to copy what everyone else has said, but when I first heard it, especially the "I fall into your abounding grace," I sort of felt like it seemed religious. And, I have noticed that a lot of her songs tend to lean towards a common theme. She's hurt from past relationships, from past failures, from past losses, and she buries herself in her pain. Or at times she feels that's all she deserves is pain or it's stupid to be happy. Then, at some point in her song, she realizes, "Wait, I deserve something better" or "Wait, I am happy" and she moves on. This song seems no different. She's lost in layers of pain, but this time, she's looking for a higher power to pull her back out--whether it be a god or God or perhaps an angelic force in her life (or an angelic person in her life.) But, from the chorus, it seems very spiritual--the journey of her becoming, well, her. She's run away from it and come back, but there is this higher force that has been there for her all along.

Sorry, if I'm sort of babbling. I'm just sort of mulling over the lyrics in my head as I go along.
