I believe that this is not only about what Hollywood does to people, but i think its also about the mental and physical corruption that America has inflicted on society.

The line "we're just hells neighbors" is stating that this lifestyle is wrong, and if everyone continues living this way its going to eventually feel like they're living in hell. The line why wont the world revolve around me is about the selfishness and self-absorbed attitudes of a lot of people.

I believe that this line is paying respect to the lost values of old school America. Back then, everyone cared a lot about classic cars and now nobody could really care less. Now the next line can either be one of two things. It could be talking about coca cola, and how in modern days the majority of old america lifestyle is gone, except for some such as coca cola, which is an unhealthy and health-deteriorating part of society. This could also be about cocaine, which was a big thing in the 80s and could be portraying that the good old school america is gone, but the problems that rose at that time are still evident. The next part is another respect to old america. Football used to be a national pastime and people used to watch the Super Bowl solely for the sport, but now the sport is somewhat watered down by the media, and people are watching Super Bowls for the commercials.

I believe the chorus is just a reflection upon society and the corruption of it. Yes it sucks and its bad, but at the end of the day its their home and they love it and wouldn't change it. This could also be meaning that yes, the corruption sucks but we don't do anything to try and stop it so we might as well just live in it.
