I think it can talk about a lot of things, and this is why this song is strong. You can listen to this and think about people you love a lot (friends, family, lovers).

But I'm more touched by the family interpretation according to my past, like parents talking about their child or children. I really like stars and planets and watching the night sky, so all the references about those speaks to me. But more of that, my parents have always had family conflicts, so it's like my parents were all alone, until they had me. "ultra-kind of love you never walk away from" is also a reference that you can never let away a love toward someone you consider as a family you've chosen (not only blood siblings, but any kind of people who've treated you as important to them).

Same for the themes like protecting someone, being a shield for them, being scared about what could happen to them or what they think about them, etc.
