These lyrics are some real talk, imo... relationships are hard, so much harder than one ever imagines; when does one walk away and “rescue” oneself from what is/could be your soulmate? But also cognizant to the reality, your significant other has the same pull to “rescue” themself. The should I stay or should I go, but it’s truly seeing why you love the other that you recognize seeing before. The way they smile, laugh, or just a look that it’s even a look: it’s timeless... Strange, because life can be so beautiful and so dark at the same time, or maybe because somehow both are out of sync... We change: age, have experiences, take on new roles, and perceptions based on these. Echo: something that’s reflected back or a close parallel or reverberates down to your very being.
