Let it Burn Lyrics Meaning

"How long?" How long will Israel have to endure their suffering due to their rejection of God and their evil practices (scoffing the poor; ripping people off; cannibalism; child sacrifices; occultic practices... the list goes on)? Also very similar to passages found in places such as Habakkuk 1:2
"I watch this city burn" is relating to when Israel was burnt to the ground (the book of Lamentations states the whole description of it).
It also relates to the persecution of the early church Christians/saints, as you can read in Revelations 6:10, majority of whom was or are today, led to even martyrdom for their testimony in Christ.
So basically, this song can be summed up to be one about long-suffering and persecution for their faith in Christ.
Now, I know quite alot of people will state, "Why does everybody have to imply some religious content to the meaning of songs?"
Well, first off, THIS IS a Christian band, even if their songs don't always have doctrinal statements or are worship songs.
Second, this can relate to any form of persecution, but mainly, by reading the lyrics in full, it is very Biblical in the fact that aspects of the lyrics are taken from Scriptural passages, therefore, this song implies one that is relevant to the Babylonian captivity of Israel, and persecution of the Christian faith. :)
