Linkin Park - Burn It Down Lyrics Meaning

I think that everyone is describing the surface of the song. Sure, it looks like a bad relationship, but if you read between the lines, there can be bigger connections. I think it is about how we idolize someone and build them up, hold them high, then drop them like a used tissue soon after, making up rumors about them. One example could be Justin Beiber. He had millions of people fangirling over him, then suddenly he does one thing wrong and suddenly nobody likes him.
"You told me yes
You held me high
[people make them famous, hold them high]

And I believed when you told that lie
I played soldier, you played king

[they perform for the audience, or king. They begin to believe that they are higher than the rest of thy human populous]

And struck me down, when I kissed that ring
You lost that right, to hold that crown

[the fame gets to their head, they get caught doing one thing wrong]

I built you up, but you let me down
So when you fall, I'll take my turn
And fan the flames
As your blazes burn"

[the fans who built up the star now take part in trashing them, burning them down.]

At least, that's what I think it means.
