"Take me, I'm alive
Never was a girl with a wicked mind
But everything looks better
When the sun goes down"
She's offering herself to a vampire she loves. She tries to catch his attention ("Hey, I'm alive"). Before him, she never thought about being a vampire, she "was never a girl with a wicked mind". But now she knows him, she realises it's with him she wants to live ("everything looks better when the sun goes down", in the darkness).
"I had everything
Opportunities for eternity and
I could belong to the night"
She says they almost had a romance, they were almost a couple, but she wasn't bitten yet. She lost the eternal life in darkness.
"Then your eyes
Your eyes
I can see in your eyes
Your eyes"
Just looking into his eyes she's able to know he doesn't want her.
""You make me wanna die
I'll never be good enough
You make me wanna die
And everything you love will burn up in the light
And everytime I look inside your eyes
You make me wanna die"""
Knowing he isn't going to bite her, she can't become his vampire-lover, and so she prefers to die.
"I'll never be good enough" she says she'll never going to be good enough for him.
She dismains / discredits the vampire life, because they can't be in the light (they burn).
If she can't be his vampire, then she wishes everything he loves to burn in the light.
"Taste me, drink my soul
Show me all the things that I shouldn't know
When there's a blue moon on the rise"
She still tries to convince him. In "that I should'nt know" she speaks about his vision: she shouldn't know because she doesn't deserve to be a vampire like him.
"When there's a blue moon on the rise". She knows it's very unlikely he will change his mind.
"I would die for you my love
My love
I would lie for you my love
My love
(You make me wanna die)
I would steal for you my love
My love
(You make me wanna die)
And I would die for you my love
My love"
Even though she's hopeless, she wants him to know she loves him with all her heart. She would do anything for him. Without him, she wants to die.
The vampire is a metaphor. It's someone she loves, but he doesn't want her.
