This song is somewhat BS (So sad but I like it) for me, it turns a cold hearted person in his submissive form.

My interpretation of this song as follows:

1. He or She will be a Hero to that person whom he considered as special and important. Well, not just your typical hero, Knight in shining armor idea, but a Hero who's there for you when you least expect it, a hero who's willing to adapt or enter your circle just to be there for you and a hero that you could always rely own. 2. This song means that when all else fails, you have no regrets or whatsoever to be with the person you loved the most. Despite that he/she dumped you at the end, you're always be there for him/her no matter what. To lay down your very existence in order to see him/her safe. "Live for nothing and Die for something" -Forgot the movie where this is ^__^

3. Finding a true love in the verge of Darkness. There's a saying that "Every person has it's own Angel to be with at the end." well, in this song, the person wrote it was inspired by that Angel of his. He wanted to create a Legacy that could immortalize the Love for his Angel.
Just like Dante did when he immortalizes his True Love Beatrice.

4. Lastly, this song could be associated by Bret Hart's quote "The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be". Because I also see in this song that the man (I could show you I'll be the one...) literally making a statement that he is the one for the person he loves the most. "Someday, someone will best me.
