It's a political criticism. It's made very evident with the last couple of lines:

Oh, I hear them now
All the religious's rhymes

The left isn't better
It's just more of the same
Condemning all these people for what they believe

His point is that neither the Left wing or the Right wing are "right". They both have good and bad points and ideas, there is no righteous path to take, but if you try hard enough it is very possible to tread through life, as a centrist.
