If you pay attention to the song progression and the story they tell - one of a man falling in love with the Queen B only to find out that she is, in fact, the Devil (hence the band name) - then you realize that this devil hasn't left Maynard, our protagonist alone.
In a rage, or desperation, he shot her twice in the chest and once in the head (Mozambique) and dumped her body in the Verde river.
But she is the Devil. She is a demon. She could be a zombie, a dracula (ie something supernatural) and that's why he DOESN'T want the Judge to grant him parole.
He knows that the Puscifer is coming to get him.
Underneath all the metaphors it feels like an addiction. An addiction to women, to sex, to drugs to something. He can't break this addiction so he tried to kill it and being in "jail" was his down time. Now he knows it is coming back to claim him.
